I must say that I can’t imagine the pressure some of the women in Hollywood must have especially going to an event like The Emmy Awards! I get anxiety about what I am going to wear on a night out in the city. I can’t imagine the pressure knowing millions of people are looking at you and judging you by what you wear not even knowing who you really are as a person. Regardless of who is looking at you, you still want to look fantastic because it makes you feel good, which in the end is all that matters.
Tonight, at The Emmy Awards there were many beautiful dresses. My personal favorite dress of all times is definitely the armani-prive dress that Claire Danes was wearing! She looked stunning! I can’t even describe the radiance that seemed to be around her. It was not only the dress but the beauty she seems to have within. I know nothing about her personally, but she is an amazing actress, especially in her Emmy winning role in Temple Grandin!
Congratulations to Claire and all of the other Emmy winners this evening!
I am sure you have already noticed that we are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. At least we think so. Most that have never traveled to Michigan might want to rethink their summer vacation plans.
Last week our girlfriend Tara and I celebrated our 29Th birthdays together. Jen, being the great friends she is, planned a get together at her house. The night consisted of great food, cocktails, fantastic friends and fun!
The evening started out with… cocktails. After all, it is a birthday celebration. For the ladies, not just any drink, cosmos. Because I felt the need to be a bit of a princess, which i tend to do on my birthday, I requested my favorite martini. A Hendricks extra-dirty martini with stuffed olives. It was fantastic!
There were many smiles throughout the evening, however, the most fun was definitely fitting all of us girls on the tube! It was instant therapy! In fact, Jen and I have come to a conclusion that this tube has changed the moods of many people and will bring most anyone instant smiles and laughter!
Thank you to all of our great friends for all that you do and especially for just being you! Especially thank you to Jen and Jason for a fantastic evening! Where would we all be in life without friends!

Over a year ago, we each purchased these fantastic Banana Republic Heels. We can hardly resist wearing them with many of our outfits and continue to get compliments on them every time we have them on. Because of the high request as to where they are from, we decided to search for the closest “look-alike.” Unfortunately BR no longer sells them. We also love the “nude” look. We realize that it is difficult to think of purchasing leather boots in the middle of summer but trust us, these boots are well worth the purchase! Last fall we were in Chicago and noticed a few women with these Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots. Immediately we became obsessed with trying to find them. Unfortunately our search was unsuccessful both in the stores and online. We were told they were no longer available but because of the high-demand, Mr. Weitzman was going to bring them back for the next fall/ winter season. Of course, we do not forget an obsession and YES, they are back in high demand!!!

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to spend the day and evening on the water in beautiful West Michigan. We left port in the afternoon and enjoyed the warm day and beautiful views. Later that night we enjoyed a fantastic meal, cocktails, music, and a moon-lite cruise. One more memory for the books.
Because we all appreciate outfits that are stunning yet transitional we did a continuation of our Day to Night Wear. We have added a short and long dress with accessories that can easily be paired with either. We both have agreed that Maxi dresses are a staple in our closets and love the versatility of them. A few weeks ago, we got together with some of our closest friends for a couples dinner overlooking Lake Michigan. The night was perfect. Feeling the warm air. Listening to the sound of crashing waves. Watching the sailboats race and the sunset. Dancing under the stars and laughing by the outdoor fireplace. It’s moments like this that make me appreciate our family, our friends and the beautiful place we live!
We are fortunate live in a town with many marinas and the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan. Therefor, we are often in swimsuits and cover-ups by day and sometimes have little time to get ready for an evening out. This Fourth of July could not have been a more perfect day for us! We were fortunate to have been able to spend the entire day/night with our families together. The beautiful day was filled with sunshine, a homemade slip-n-slide, summer cocktails, children laughing, boating activities, a perfect meal, s’mores by the fire and, of course, fireworks! Many smiles throughout the day to add to the book of memories!
