Yes, I definitely have a case of the winter blues and I don’t mean the color blue. My creative side for fashion or anything for that matter has been a difficult task in this dreadful weather of ours. Don’t get me wrong, I think the snow is beautiful and bright but enough is enough. I feel as though every time I look outside it is snowing and did I mention how cold it has been? I feel as though someone moved me to Alaska without my knowledge. All of the designers and fashion websites want to show us the spring fashion trends and all I can think of is how many turtlenecks I can put on fashionably with Uggs. Speaking of Uggs, If i want to go outside and play in the snow with the kids in this weather, the Uggs just don’t cut it. I have been eying the Sorel Joan of Arctic boots for well over a year now. I should have purchased them before this crazy weather hit us because now I can not find them anywhere in my size. There for my time outside is limited for now, but I am sure to have a cozy fire in the fireplace and some hot cocoa for everyone else when they come in.
These are some quick photos I took of the outside of our house. In case you were at all curious, those kids are not eskimos, they are my children pretending they are in there igloo that Daddy made them. I enjoyed the moment through my camera lens. The smile on their faces is a definite cure for these winter blues.

I’m a big believer in thinking positively about all situations once you get your wise mind to do so. The positive direction I am taking is all of the great winter sales that are going on. Take advantage of getting yourself a fabulous pair of boots that you have been eying but perhaps couldn’t bring yourself to spend or didn’t have the means to spend that much. Here are just a few great winter deals I have found.

Happy New Year Everyone!
Is it just I that finds the Holidays extremely exhausting? We are constantly on the go, our minds are spinning with tasks to get done, the house and tree to decorate, presents to buy, places to go, parties to throw. We are nonstop and our adrenaline is in overdrive because we know it has to get done. Not to mention the alcohol and food intake. Then the holidays end and we crash. Our body is telling us to stop and rest. We are exhausted, some of us get sick because our immune system is weak. We wonder why are we doing all of this. Yet we look back and smile at the laughter, the tears, and the memories that we have shared with our friends and our family. We then say to ourselves, it was all worth it!!
Jen and I decided to host a holiday party for our service league this year at her house. I told her she was crazy, she had just decided to remodel a part of her house. Now her project was in overdrive. Speaking of stress. She was remodeling, planning a party, and doing the typical crazy holiday stuff we all go through. On top of it all, we decided to throw a “red carpet” themed party. We stated it in such a way that the attire could be anywhere from June Cleaver to Lady Gaga to just being yourself. Jen and I had this “bright” idea that we would be creative and make our dresses. One problem…we don’t sew. Thankfully her wonderful Mother and Sister do sew. Through many of hours of shopping all over the place, we finally ended up creating our dresses out of a winter white satin lingerie gown, our petticoats from our wedding dresses and tulle. Although we added this extra stress on ourselves, we did have fun creating our holiday attire. The nice thing about house parties is you can wear almost anything and feel much more comfortable than you would if you were going out. I would definitely recommend a red carpet themed party.
We made it through the holidays and enjoyed it all! We look forward to the many fun fashionable finds and creations 2011 brings us.
Wishing all of you the very best this New Year!

Who says you have to put away your whites after Labor Day? After dressing the part as Padmé on Halloween, I was inspired by the white on white. Adding the fur texture give the white a soft winter feel. Wear this classy, clean and cozy outfit with confidence.

November is officially here, which means the Holidays are just around the corner. For many of us, our lives are crazy with work, kids activities, everyday life, and or course…the stress of what will we wear to the upcoming holiday parties!
Although the LBD is a staple in most of our closets, we are envisioning soft angelic fabrics and colors like winter whites, satin, chiffon and subtle crystal beading. Will this be the direction we choose for our holiday attire? Check back with us during the next couple of weeks as we search for our perfect dress.
