Happy New Year Everyone!

Is it just I that finds the Holidays extremely exhausting? We are constantly on the go, our minds are spinning with tasks to get done, the house and tree to decorate, presents to buy, places to go, parties to throw. We are nonstop and our adrenaline is in overdrive because we know it has to get done. Not to mention the alcohol and food intake. Then the holidays end and we crash. Our body is telling us to stop and rest. We are exhausted, some of us get sick because our immune system is weak. We wonder why are we doing all of this. Yet we look back and smile at the laughter, the tears, and the memories that we have shared with our friends and our family. We then say to ourselves, it was all worth it!!

Jen and I decided to host a holiday party for our service league this year at her house. I told her she was crazy, she had just decided to remodel a part of her house. Now her project was in overdrive. Speaking of stress. She was remodeling, planning a party, and doing the typical crazy holiday stuff we all go through. On top of it all, we decided to throw a “red carpet” themed party. We stated it in such a way that the attire could be anywhere from June Cleaver to Lady Gaga to just being yourself. Jen and I had this “bright” idea that we would be creative and make our dresses. One problem…we don’t sew. Thankfully her wonderful Mother and Sister do sew. Through many of hours of shopping all over the place, we finally ended up creating our dresses out of a winter white satin lingerie gown, our petticoats from our wedding dresses and tulle. Although we added this extra stress on ourselves, we did have fun creating our holiday attire. The nice thing about house parties is you can wear almost anything and feel much more comfortable than you would if you were going out. I would definitely recommend a red carpet themed party.
We made it through the holidays and enjoyed it all! We look forward to the many fun fashionable finds and creations 2011 brings us.

Wishing all of you the very best this New Year!

In the spirit of the release of Sex And The City 2, we decided to filter through our closets and piece together some creative and fun looks. As young girls we always enjoyed playing dress up…..some things never change. So break the rules, mix-and-match, and be inspired.

Last night many women (and some men) gathered together to watch a private screening of Sex and the City 2, including myself and 2 of our close friends. Unfortunately, Jen could not attend and we missed her greatly. The movie was fantastic! I would have to say that I relate mostly to Carrie! Can you say wardrobe envy! I would take every one of her Halston Heritage dresses! They are amazing! If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I highly suggest watching it!

Gap,Blazer,womens,shorts,nautical,shirt

Last week we promised you more Nautical-wear. We were waiting for the perfect day to photograph our next look in the “Sailor Stripes” trend. Friday was a beautiful day on the beach of Lake Michigan, actually better than we expected! We chose outfits that can be worn both day and night simply by choosing a flip flop/ sandal for day and a heel and jewels at night. We are definitely a fan of transitional wear.

Do you have a favorite Nautical piece that you would like to share with us?
